It is needless of me to say that if we didn’t know any worries then this world would have been a heaven and we would have treated everyone here as our own blood. We would have never known about the fight & dark side of peace. We would have never needed any doctors or any pharmaceuticals as I think that its worries which gets us more diseased then the actual virus or other microorganisms causing it. Though every one of us knows these basic facts, but there are very little of us who really gives any thoughts to it. So, through this page, I am trying myself best to get it forwarded to you. And for it I should really thank Mr. Dale Carnegie for his book “HOW TO STOP WORRYING AND START LIVING” and here too are the points extracted from the same book. There though have been some modification in some stanzas but it’s all of him. I wouldn’t have been a better of a happy man now if I hadn’t read it. It really affected me affectionately I should say, I am living with ease after reading this book. So I too ask you to, at least get time to read it, or else you can also work out yourself of the narration I have enlisted below. If ever I get time then I am sure to end up with a book if I start up writing with the worries and its effect. But I don’t now wish to bore you more so I better get on started over with the points.

HOW TO STOP WORRYING & START LIVING

Fundamental Facts About Worry

Do not tend to put off living in the present in order to worry about the future, or yearn for some “magical garden of rose over the horizon”.

Don’t embitter the present by regretting things that happened in past – that are over & done with.

Get up in the morning determined to “seize the day” – to get the utmost out of these twenty-four hours.

Always think, “Everyday is a new day with new hope”.

Techniques in analyzing worry

When you are in some problems, ask yourself,” What is the worst that could probably happen?” and prepare to accept it if you have to.

Calmly devote your time & energy trying to improve upon the worst, which you have mentally accepted.

Remind yourself of the exorbitant price you can pay for worry in terms of your health. “Those who don’t know how to fight worries die young.”

Way to break worry habit before it breaks us

Get the facts that are worrying u.

Get to remember “half the worry in the world is caused by people trying to make decisions before they have sufficient knowledge on which to base a decision”.

After weighting the facts, come to a decision

Once the decision is carefully reached, act! Get busy carrying out with your decisions – and dismiss all the anxiety about the outcome.

When there is some problem, write out and answer the following questions,

What is the problem?

What is the cause of the problem?

What are all possible solutions?

What is the best solution?

Ways to cultivate mental attitude that brings you peace

Keep busy of yourself. The worried person must loose himself in action, lest he wither in despair.

Lets not allow ourselves to be upset by small things we should despise & forget. Remember “life is too short to be little”

“Lets examine the record”. Lets ask ourselves: “what are the chances, according to the law of averages, that this event I’m worrying about will ever occur?”

Cooperate with the inevitable. If you know a circumstance is beyond your power of change or revise, say to yourself: “It is so, it cannot be otherwise”.

Let past bury its dead. Don’t saw sawdust.

Whenever you are tempted to throw good money after bad in terms of human living, let’s stop and ask ourselves these three questions,

How mush does this thing I am worrying about really matters to me?

At what point shall I set a “stop – loss” order of worry & forget it.

Exactly how much shall I pay for this whistle? Have I already paid more then it is worth?

Perfect way to control worries

Whatsoever happens, think & act cheerfully, and you will feel cheerful.

Lets fill our mind with thoughts of peace, courage, health & hope, for “our life is what our thoughts make it”.

Lets never try to get even with our enemies, because if we do we will hurt ourselves far more then we hurt them. Lets not waste a minute thinking about the people we don’t like.

Instead of worrying about ingratitude, let’s expect it. Let’s remember that Jesus healed tem lepers in one day – and only one thanked Him. Why should we expect more gratitude then Jesus.

Lets remember that the only way to find happiness is not to expect gratitude – but to give for the joy of giving.

Remember gratitude is a cultivated trait; so if we want our children to be grateful, we must train them to be grateful.

Count your blessings not your troubles.

Lets not imitate others. Let’s find ourselves, for “envy is ignorance” and “imitation is suicide”.

When fate hands us the lemon, lets try to make a lemonade.

Lets forget our happiness – be trying to create a little happiness for others. “when you are good to others, you are best to yourself”.

How to keep from worrying criticism

Unjust criticism is often a disguised compliment. It often means that you have aroused jealousy and envy. Remember that no one ever kicks a dead dog.

Do the very best you can; and then put up your old umbrella and keep the rain of criticism from running down the back of your neck.

Lets keep the record of the fool things we have done and criticize ourselves. Since we can’t hope to be perfect; lets ask for unbiased, helpful, constructive criticism.

Learn to relax at your work.

Learn to relax at home.

To prevent worry a fatigue, put enthusiasm into your work.

Remember, no one was ever killed by lack of sleep. It is worrying about the insomnia that does the damage – not the insomnia.
